DME Award

The only award dedicated to the management of design, the DME Award, is now open for its fourth edition. Previous winners of the DME Award including Virgin Atlantic, Roca NHS, Festo, Decathlon, Senz Umbrellas and EDF all represent highly innovative organisations where design plays an integral part of their operation. This year the award will be located in Lisbon and represents a new era of the DME Award.

For the first time since its inception in 2007 the Design Management Europe Award is now open to companies and organisations from all European countries. Centro Português de Design (Portuguese Design Centre), the organisers and hosts of this year’s award are preparing for the first truly European design management award that will culminate with the DME Award ceremony, a key event of the 2010 Innovation Festival of Lisbon.

Award procedure
s
To win a DME Award is to be recognised by an international jury of management experts that an organisation and its management are among the best practitioners of design through leadership, operation, and innovation. Companies and organisations are challenged to apply for the DME Award by submitting a poster illustrating how design is integrated into their organisation and processes to achieve strategic gains. Categories for the award cover all businesses and organisations; from micro companies to multi-nationals, service and manufacturing sectors, public agencies and non profit organisations.

All information on how to apply for the DME Award is available on the DME website. Managers from companies and organisations interested in applying can register directly via the DME website or contact one of the many DME agents located around Europe. Those located in Spain, can contact BCD Barcelona Design Centre. Entry to the DME Award is free.
