'Inspired in Barcelona: Luce' illuminates the Disseny Hub Barcelona until February 8 with sixty self-published lamps

After its passage through Milan Design Week, the exhibition ‘Inspired in Barcelona: Luce’ can be visited at the Disseny Hub Barcelona until February 8, 2026. Curated by the architect and designer Stefano Colli, and with space and scenography design together with Carles Novell, the exhibition addresses light as a creative language and as a sign of Barcelona’s identity through some sixty pieces of lighting design.

This edition, reinterpreted especially for Barcelona Design Week 2025, focuses on self-published projects: unique pieces or short series conceived to order or directly for an end user, reflecting a way of working that is increasingly present in the sector, thanks to the democratization of manufacturing and distribution processes.

Presiding over the space is the BARCELONA luminaire, designed by Antoni Arola, which many Barcelona residents recognise in the city’s streets during the Christmas holidays and which here becomes an iconic element of the installation.

Simon, key partner in the architectural lighting of the exhibition

One of the central elements of the exhibition ‘Inspired in Barcelona: Luce’ is the architectural lighting of the space, developed by Simon and designed by Michela Mezzavilla – MMAS Lighting.

This light intervention, created for the occasion, transforms the perception of the exhibition, modulating the light to generate an immersive atmosphere that is consistent with the curatorial story. The system allows you to accompany the route, adjust the colour temperature and intensities according to the needs of each area and maintain a consistent colour reading throughout the route.

This collaboration places Simon as a strategic partner in a project that connects industry, lighting design and exhibition discourse.

Barcelona, capital of light design

‘Inspired in Barcelona: Luce’ consolidates Barcelona as a benchmark platform in lighting design, bringing together creators who work from technological innovation, the craft and formal experimentation.

Within this framework, the exhibition will be part of Llum BCN, a leading European festival in the field of light arts and a cultural event of great relevance. In this new 2026 edition, which will be held from 6 to 8 February in the Poblenou neighbourhood and in the surroundings of Plaça de les Glòries, ‘Inspired in Barcelona: Luce’ will contribute to showing the language of light in the transformation of spaces and infinite creative possibilities.

The exhibition is organized by the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation (BCDF), with the support of the Design Hub Barcelona – Barcelona City Council and the collaboration of Simon.
